What will you learn with Svasthyam for Executives

The online yoga instructor-led sessions show you how to integrate body, breath and mind

Svasthyam is a one-month program, anchored on the praxis of Yoga, designed to empower the individual with yogic tools and practices for personal well being and perspectives / insights on ones emotional realms and behavioural patterns. This then sows the seed in the individual to craft ones career in a manner that is meaningful and aligns with oneself and rather than just be reactive / caught up with the hustle and bustle of the work place.

The program draws from a wide variety of Indian traditions. Primarily anchored in Yoga, in the tradition of legendary Yogi Sri Krishnamacharya, it also includes elements from Natya Sastra (Indian dance/theatre tradition). It also borrows from Ayurveda (Indian medicine) and Kalari Payattu (Indian martial arts) and Mahabharata (Indian epics).

What you will learn

  • Quick-fix asana/pranayama practices to address back or neck pain, stress and sleep issues. All of these are taught in a manner suitable to participants irrespective of their age.
  • Asana/Pranayama practice to be done regularly to improve overall health, strength / flexibility and attention
  • Ayurveda tips for health
  • To help cultivate a habit of regular practice
  • Get insights into ones capabilities, challenges and aspirations from the location of your inner friend - to enable you to make empowered choices in your workplace

All course content is shared with you after the sessions. 

Each session will typically involve

  • 30-40 minutes asana/pranayama practice (occasional use of techniques from kalari payattu)
  • 30 minutes self-reflection - through theatre based activities, listening to each other in small and large group discussions, occasional use of poetry and music
  • 5 minutes of appropriate theory

A course designed to get you into the habit of practice

The course is designed for 5 sessions the first week, 4 the following week and 3 each the last two weeks. The idea behind this is to ease you into a regular habit of practice - this is key in you benefitting from whatever you learn in the first month. Follow-up batches will start soon but the fundamental aim is to get you started on the path, with the intention of it becoming a change in lifestyle.
